On Sunday, April 27, 2025, a Sunrise Walk will be held at National Harbor to raise awareness and support for Sunrise programs.  Both sponsors/donors and walkers are being solicited. Consider joining the walk and/or forming a team. It will be a celebration of community awareness and support. Click here for more information.

Sunrise Day Camp is a program hosted by the Pozez Jewish Community Center to provide a free six week summer day camp experience to children in the Greater DC area who are being treated for cancer, as well as their siblings, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or economic status.   Sunrise provides these kids with a safe and supportive camp environment with the necessary medical and recreational support.  Due to the costs associated with transportation, seasonal staffing, and ensuring the necessary medical and recreational resources, a lot of money is needed to support this community program.

Kids are being asked to help support the camp. Did you know that when you fill a 16 oz. water bottle with dimes, you can raise $100?  Gather a team of 10 friends and fill 10 water bottles. Consider volunteering and donating.

Federal Interagency Holocaust Remembrance Program

This year’s on-line program will feature Holocaust survivor Dr. Eugene Bergman. Dr. Bergman and his family endured the dangers and depravations of three ghettos during the Holocaust. In addition, as a child Dr. Bergman  was playing in the street when a German soldier struck him in the head with a rifle butt, rendering him deaf. Despite this permanent injury Dr. Bergman was not silenced including his book Survival Artist: A Memoir of the Holocaust. This annual forum is free to the public and no registration is required. The program will be live streamed at HolocaustRemembrance.org.
