The Islamic month of Ramadan is beginning on the evening of February 28 this year. In this month Muslims observe fast from dawn to sunset. During the fasting hours no drink or food is taken along with abstaining from intimate spousal relationships. Fasting is an obligation on every adult Muslim and the purpose of fasting is to gain spiritual strength and awareness of the presence of God in their lives. During this whole month at Dar Al-Hijrah the Iftar Dinner is served every day at the sunset. On average they serve 1000 meals every day.
